Google Maps are dynamic, interactive maps that you can drag — no clicking and waiting each time you want to view the adjacent parts of a map. Type in the name of a region or neighborhood and see any part of it as easily as with a regular street map. Use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up anddown to see areas that are hidden offscreen. Use the slider to zoom in and zoom out or press the + or - keys. Learn more.
Depending on your location, you can use Google Maps to search for businesses within an area or neighborhood. Say you want to find coffee shops. Navigate to that area, type in "coffee" and coffee shops appear at various locations on your map. Or you can simply enter "coffee" and a zip code, city or town and Google Maps display local cafes.
Local search gives you phone numbers for each location on the left side of the page. Click on the link for a location and Google Maps gives you the name, address and phone number, with links offering you driving directions, reviews and more. Want to see an aerial perspective of any location on Earth? Check out our satellite view, which gives you access to satellite and aerial images that you can zoom in, zoom out, or pan in any direction.
To access this view, click "Satellite" in the top right corner of the Google Maps page. You can also choose the hybrid view, which displays additional information – including streets, street names, and landmarks. Learn more.
In certain locations, you can view and navigate within street-level imagery. This features allows you to pick a location, take a look around, zoom in and virtually travel around streets and neighborhoods.
Just click "Street View" in the top right corner of the Google Maps page. Cities with available street views appear with a camera icon
. Roads with available street views appear with a blue border (see below). Click the human icon

Depending on your location, you can create personalized, annotated, customized maps, complete with placemarks, lines or shapes. Add additional content including rich text, photos, videos and then share your map with others or open it in Google Earth. Learn more about My Maps.
Depending on your location, just type in a starting and a destination address - Google Maps plots the route for you, displaying it on the map, together with step-by-step directions for getting there (or back from there).
Click on any step to view an info bubble with a magnified view of the area mentioned in the directions. Print driving directions with thumbnails for each step or a map of the entire route. Learn more.
